I recall an adage taught to us in school:
For want of a nail, a shoe was lost,
For want of a shoe, a horse was lost,
For want of a horse, a battle was lost,
For want of a battle, a kingdom was lost.

Posterity will record that the ongoing chaos and treachery of the West were so easily avoided. The post-mortem will clearly set out how the masses sat back and accepted their fate with bovine-like calmness.
We Europeans suffer not from our enemies: no time in history have Europeans been free of threat and of enemies. The people of European ethnicity bleed because of their chronic inertia.

History repeats itself:
‘And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?

‘Or if, during periods of mass arrest, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?

‘The repressive organs of state would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst; the cursed machine would have ground to a halt. If we didn’t love freedom enough, and even more, we had no awareness of the real situation, we purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterwards’ ~ Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. Gulag Archipelago.

Here at the embattled news desk of EUROPE RENAISSANCE, there is a bunker mentality. We are (just about) running on a shoestring budget as cash buys trash in department stores. . . by people who can’t buy a book or two from the cause that they claim to support. Something to think about: ‘90% of the costs of our trailblazing news platform is met by an octogenarian on a British pension the second lowest pension in Europe.
