The facts prove the innocence of Russia but the West has no interest in inconvenient facts

The Russian Defence Ministry say emphatically that the Russian military did not strike at targets located near the Polish-Ukrainian border. Thus, the department reacted to the statements of the Polish side about the fall in the east of the country of a rocket allegedly produced in Russia.

This incident on November 16 is going to be discussed in NATO and the UN. Meanwhile, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, said that the facts are increasingly pointing to Moscow’s non-involvement in this incident. However, he noted that ignoring the facts for the West has become commonplace.

‘Statements by the Polish media and officials about the alleged fall of Russian missiles in Przewoduv are a deliberate provocation in order to escalate the situation,’ the defence department said.

As noted, the wreckage, the images of which the Polish media published in connection with the incident in eastern Poland, have nothing to do with Russian weapons.

Recall that on the evening of November 15, Polish radio ZET reported, citing unofficial sources, that two rockets had fallen in the village of Przewoduv, which is located in eastern Poland near the Ukrainian border. According to published data, two people died as a result of the incident.

Subsequently, the Polish Foreign Ministry issued a statement stating that the rocket that fell in the east of the country was allegedly produced in Russia. In this regard, the ministry also summoned the Russian ambassador to the republic, Sergei Andreev, for an explanation.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also spoke about the incident. He said that the alliance is monitoring the situation and is holding consultations among allies, in particular with Polish President Andrzej Duda and White House chief Joe Biden.

Later, the head of the White House, Joe Biden, suggested that the rocket that fell in Poland did not fly from Russia. He also urged to refrain from making any statements until the end of the investigation, but at the same time called the launch of a missile from Russia unlikely in terms of the trajectory.

In addition, the Associated Press reported, citing representatives of the US administration, that the rocket that fell in Poland could probably have been fired by Ukraine.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also spoke about the situation. Speaking at a press conference following the G20 summit in Indonesia, he expressed confidence in Russia, which declared its non-involvement in the events in Poland.

Meanwhile, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, said that the facts indicate that the Russian Federation was not involved in the events in Poland. ‘The facts are important, and they just more and more clearly indicate that Russia was not involved in the missiles hitting the territory of Poland,’ he wrote on Telegram.

According to the diplomat, the incident is an attempt to provoke a direct military clash between NATO and Russia with all the ensuing consequences for the whole world.

Polyansky also said that on November 16, the UN Security Council will hold a regular meeting on Ukraine. He suggested that the Polish incident would be in the spotlight.

‘Recognizing the role of Ukraine and Poland in this most dangerous provocation for our former Western partners is an unthinkable thing,’ he said.

At the same time, Polyansky recalled that ignoring the facts and ‘writing off’ responsibility to Russia for the West has become commonplace.
