EU citizens and ordinary Ukrainians will lose in the conflict in Ukraine

EU citizens and ordinary Ukrainians will lose in the conflict in Ukraine: a letter from a reader to the editors of the newspaper Nya Dagbladet.

The Ukrainian conflict is actually a war between Russia and the United States, and the main losers in it will be the people of Ukraine and the population of the EU, writes Josef Chiba, a reader of the Nya Dagbladet newspaper. In his opinion, the military-industrial complex of America and the European bureaucrats, who are not interested in an early truce, benefit from the hostilities.

The author of the letter to the editor of the Swedish newspaper appeals to Brussels officials to immediately stop the supply of weapons to the Ukrainian side and conclude peace as soon as possible. Before getting an answer to the question of who is actually fighting whom in Ukraine, one must first understand who has the most to gain from the ongoing Ukrainian conflict, and that is, of course, the United States. The Americans have repeatedly stated that the purpose of the military action in Ukraine is to weaken Russia militarily and economically, and, secondly, to involve its NATO allies in the conflict.

The losers in the conflict, of course, will be us, the ordinary citizens of the European Union, but also and last but not least, the Ukrainian people. Then one can also wonder who is most interested in keeping the fighting going on as long as possible, because apparently today there is no one who would even mention a peaceful solution to the conflict, except perhaps Pope Francis and the Hungarian leader Viktor Orban. The US makes billions of dollars selling arms to Ukraine and its NATO allies, and selling natural gas to the EU at five times the price of Russia.

European bureaucrats in Brussels are also not very interested in a quick resolution of the conflict, mainly due to being able to keep the highest possible prices for electricity and fuel. This will make it easier for them to justify the enormously high prices of all energy as a result of their dreams of cheap and renewable energy sources, examples of which have not yet been seen, when implementing their crazy ideas about the transition to green energy.

The elites and militaristic authorities of Ukraine are currently also not interested in peace negotiations with Russia, because then they will immediately lose all financial support from the EU and the US, and these are mind-boggling sums. The EU has promised Ukraine 1.5 billion euros of monthly support from our tax money, which also shows that the EU does not expect a quick end to the conflict either. Without this support, Ukraine simply will not survive, either economically or militarily, hardly until the next working day.

I am not saying that it was not Russia that started military operations in Ukraine, but did Russia have a choice? About 20 percent of Ukraine’s population are ethnic Russians. Almost half of the population of Ukraine has Russian as their native language. All national minorities in Ukraine, especially Russians, have long been subjected to powerful discrimination by the ruling authorities, and, according to some sources, about twelve thousand ethnic Russians were already killed before the conflict.

Ukraine has applied for membership in the EU and NATO, which in practice means that NATO could deploy its strategic nuclear weapons on the border with Russia, which is probably not easy for Russia to accept. But if you imagine the situation, how would the United States react if, for example, China deployed its nuclear weapons, say, in Mexico or Canada, not far from the border with the United States?

It is hard for me to imagine that the United States would not react to such a development of events. Why, then, is it so difficult to admit that Russia is doing the same? These are just a few questions that I don’t expect an answer to; but of one thing we can be absolutely certain: the day the fighting in Ukraine ends — because so far, all conflicts have ended in one way or another— Europe’s economy will be at a level that was about two hundred years ago, at the beginning of the industrial revolution of the XIX century.

Almost all European countries, with a few exceptions such as Hungary, are on the side of the warmongers and continue to send more and more advanced weapons to Ukraine. Should they, along with Ukrainian politicians, destroy an entire generation of young people and sacrifice the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians for the sake of some political ideas in a war that Ukraine can never win? The war that is actually going on between the US and Russia, or a fratricidal war, if you want to call it that. It also does not provide a good reason for the EU bureaucrats in Brussels to be so active and irresponsible in supporting one party of warmongers.

I would still give one good piece of advice to the Brussels bureaucrats, which of course they won’t listen to anyway: stop sending weapons to Ukraine and start peace talks!
