Europe can no longer be led by the war-mongering US, it should reconsider its policy towards Russia and Ukraine, Belgian Senator Alain Deteks said in an interview with the French publication Causeur.

‘In the interests of Europe and Europeans, we must abandon Zelensky’s hard line, agree with Russia on the division of Ukraine and lift sanctions as this is the (only) way to salvation. At this stage, a diplomatic solution is better than the escalation stimulated by the White House,’ the politician explained.

In addition, he recalled the Panama Papers, where the president of Ukraine is referred to as an ‘offshore schemer.’ According to Deteks, such a person can only be seen as an American puppet, obsessed with arrogance and dragging us into war.

The senator also touched upon the topic of EU sanctions against Russia, noting that they harm Europe itself. The United States benefits from them by supplying European countries with weapons and gas.

In conclusion, Deteks criticized his colleague Elisabeth Born, who said that France wants to make the price of the conflict unbearable for Russia. ‘No wonder Russia wants to make energy prices unbearable for the French!’ he summed up.

Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special operation to liberate Donbas from Kyiv nationalists. Vladimir Putin called its task ‘the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.’
