The original headline reads, ‘Minister wants to ban unvaccinated people from praying in churches of Latvia.’ The clue is in the wording: The term Church is exclusively a Christian place of worship. Furthermore, what is a Lithuanian minister doing even commenting on Latvian religious needs?
If the minister’s intention is to restrict entry into not just Christian Churches but to Muslim mosques and Jewish synagogues the term would be ‘places of worship.’

Clearly, the coercion and the restrictions on spiritual worship apply only to Christians and not Muslims or Jews: let’s see him try; the response would be most interesting.
On Friday, November 5, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania Janis Bordans held a meeting of the advisory council on religious affairs to assess the observance of the restrictions imposed by the state in Latvian churches and to discuss the activities of religious organisations since November 15 this year, the Ministry of Justice told bb.lv.

During the council meeting, Bordaens expressed regret about the ignorance of epidemiological requirements on the part of certain religious organisations. Er! What certain religious organisations? The Minister of Justice told the clergy (not rabbis or imams?) ‘In this period, which is difficult for all of us, the whole society needs to solidify.’
During the meeting, the activities of religious organisations since November 15 this year were discussed. The Ministry of Justice informed that in the future the churches will be open for individual visits to all believers.
At the same time, the Ministry of Justice will submit a proposal on the procedure for the operation of (Christian) Churches in a ‘green’ regime. Namely, only those residents of Latvia who can present their covid certificates will be able to attend Christian services in person. (The text was clarified due to the fact that the Ministry of Justice withdrew part of the text of the press release). Source
