Inhabitants of Germany were vaccinated with an expired vaccine for more than a month. The inscription that accompanied the preparation was misleading. The labelling indicated a longer storage period, which is not true.
An expired coronavirus vaccine produced by the American company Moderna was introduced to nearly 1,000 victim residents of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg in southwestern Germany. It turned out that the expired drug was received from August 8 to September 14 by residents in the cities of Sindelfingen, and after September 9, Reutlingen and Esslingen.

According to the newspaper Bild, the doctors were allegedly misled by the incorrect labelling on the packages. They indicated a longer shelf life than the sanitary standards require.
The publication notes that everything else was carried out in compliance with the rules, the transportation of the vaccine was carried out properly, the drug was stored in the refrigerator. In general, Bild points out.

‘So far, no conclusions have been drawn as to whether longer storage would affect effectiveness,’ Bild quotes Martina Burchert-Grajeve, a spokesman for the district vaccination centre in Sindelfingen.
