SAMIZDAT REPORT: On the Tiananmen-like main government square in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius, outraged protesters mostly speaking Lithuanian or Russian vented their fury at the NATO regime’s scale of repression.

Ironically, the scale of lockdown and repression is far worse than anything experienced by the Baltic people during the Soviet occupation of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia post-Brezhnev era.

In fact, Lithuania was the first of the Baltic States to defeat and send packing the Red Army. It is a tragedy that the Lithuanian police are as harsh if not harsher than were the nation’s Soviet occupiers.

With scenes reminiscent of the downfall of Romanian Soviet despot Nicolai Ceausescu who was gunned down with his family in 1989, the angry and frustrated Lithuanian demonstrators demand the resignation of the pro-Washington Vilnius regime and early elections. The most ardent special forces ‘sobered’ with the help of gas and truncheons.

Similar anti-regime demonstrations occurred simultaneously in Kaunas, the second city of Lithuania. Although police tried to seal off Kaunas, many activists were able to make their way to the capital to join their brothers and sisters.

The authorities having learnt from their former Soviet masters accused the demonstrators of drunkenness and criminality: state media played the chorus.

The illegal dissident leader of the SNF of Lithuania G. Grabauskas made a statement on social networks, demanding the country’s withdrawal from NATO, the withdrawal of foreign troops from the country, and amnesty for all politically persecuted activists’, as well as the resignation of the government.

Most of the protesters are outraged by the tightening of the quarantine screws, which led to the riots. Today, protests are planned at the Government House. We hope that this time there will be no bloodshed. Lithuanians and Latvians, we are brothers. Videos
