WHY DO WOMEN WEEP She wept again this afternoon, I've no idea why, A woman who seems happy, So often needs to cry, There seems to be no reason, Her eyes should fill with tears, Perhaps she's looking back at life, Or dreads the coming years? Her inner peace was broken, It fell with every tear, Perhaps it was unspoken loss, Of something she held dear, Fate is on a mission, A straight road to the end, Will she will weep again tonight, For roads she cannot bend. Why women weep eludes me, No reason needs there be, To ask her why her breaking heart, Release her tears so free. Poignant are my thoughts tonight, Those women know no peace, Her soul is everlasting whilst, Her life on earth must cease. She cries that she's the mother, The queen of all but Fate, Creating love and life's her role, But ticking-time won't wait, The clock hands show no pity, Her realm will meet its end, She weeps for what is hers by right, And what she can't defend.
