UEFA punishes Hungary with hefty fines and two matches without spectators

After the Hungarian football teams refused to take the knee to the LGBT lobby, UEFA has punished the Hungarian national football team. The team, one of the best in Europe will be obliged to play three home matches in front of empty stands, one of them conditionally.

This sanctimonious virtue signalling by EUFA talking heads politicises sport. It is said that this will be yet another nail in the coffin for international sport. Since the Olympics were held in Ancient Greece, all other rivalries have been left where they should be outside the doors of international and national sports stadiums.

The state of hostilities between EUFA and Hungarian football is for what EUFA claim is ‘discriminatory behaviour (anti-gay chants) of fans in the matches of the group stage of the European Championship, according to the UEFA website.

In addition, the Hungarian national team was fined €100,000, over three times as much as England were fined (€30, 000). The team must also display a gay promotional banner at these games that says Equal Game.

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) made this decision following an investigation into incidents involving Hungarian fans in the group stage matches against Portugal (0: 3), France (1: 1) and Germany (2: 2). Source

  1. I don’t know if I’m in the minority saying this, but I wish our people would stop this obsession with sports and entertainment. It seems like it is always weaponized against us to push ‘woke’ and liberal stuff. Like in America, we are so obsessed with football and mindless toxic entertainment. The television and entertainment has destroyed generations of Americans since the 1950s.

  2. The Hungarians should have their own Brexit. They could call it Hunexit or just Hexit. Why is Orban putting up with the P.C. culture from Brussels? No sane European needs that Globalist, dystopian, nightmare called the E.U.

    • I try hard to leave my prejudices aside when it comes to sport. However, all sport has become so politicised, theatre for virtue signalling, I aggravated by unfairness to one side of the other as in the England vs. Denmark game I have lost all interest. I will be hoping the players most honest whatever the bias of referee’s bias will win. Come on Italy.
