A crocodile at the Florida Zoo underwent surgery to remove a shoe from his stomach.

The predator swallowed the boot, which literally fell on him from the sky – the boot was lost by a zoo visitor riding a zipline, UPI reports. At first, the crocodile did not really like the “gift of heaven”, and he “returned” it back, that is, spat it out. But then, on reflection, he swallowed again, the observers said.

Doctors from the local college of veterinary medicine were assigned to rescue the animal. The crocodile, 3.4 meters long, was secured to the surgical table with straps and underwent gastrotomy.

Now a crocodile named Anuket is already recovering in his aviary at the zoo.
