Bulldog rescued a drowning boy in Australia

Mixed Bulldog and Staffordshire Bull Terrier Max, who lives in an ordinary Australian family became a national hero after rescuing a boy drowning in a river.

The owner of the dog, Rob Osborne, was resting on the beach when he noticed that the lethal rapid but unseen undercurrent stream carried the bathing boy to the depths and was about to throw him on the stones.

The man rushed into the water to save the child, but the dog in the swimming vest was ahead of him. Max swam up to the boy, and the child grabbed the dog’s vest. Together they were able to swim closer to the shore, where Max’s owner and other vacationers came to their aid.

‘He’s a real hero, he just doesn’t know it. Max just did what he was told,’ said the owner of the brave dog. ~ Anna Lysenko, Source
