The drastic restrictive measures imposed on multiple nations around the world has proved to be wholly ineffective in the attempt to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The most stringent non-medical, health interventions to curb the spread of COVID-19 include quarantine, travel restrictions, massive numbers of business closures, unprecedented unemployment, bankruptcies, deaths due to undiagnosed illness, education curtailed, massive unemployment, and much else. Given their global social and economic consequences, it is important to assess their real impact on the evolution of the epidemic have one year’s experience to draw on.

Ten countries, England, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, South Korea, Sweden and the United States, the change in the number of COVID-19 cases as a result of the measures was examined in different nations and regions.
